WELDCRETE ADDITIVE
Water Resistant Bonding Agent and Additive for Rendering, Toppings & Plastering.
REQUIREMENTS: |
Water-resistant renderings for interior or exterior walls or basements. Damp resistant layers. Levelling floors prior to laying tiles, wood blocks, etc. Patching and repairing concrete areas. Industrial flooring, screeding and topping. Nosing for stairs indoors/outdoors. Flooring for dairies, food factories, fertilizer stores where improved chemical resistance is required. Lining and effluent ducts. Corrosion protection of steel reinforcing rods in concrete and of steel structures. Water-resistant adhesives for tiles, aggregates, glass, steel, mosaics, etc. Water-resistant bonding agent for toppings / renders in wet or damp environments. |
EFFECTS: On Mortars & Concretes (Contact your Cementaid Technical Service Centre for advice on Weldcrete modified mortars etc.) |
Greatly improved adhesion to substrates, including dense impervious concrete.. Prevents de-bonding or "drummy" areas in toppings or renders. Provides highly vapour resistant film barrier. Mixes may be applied in thin layers. Excellent resistance to water and water vapour. Improved toughness and flexibility. Improved resistance to certain chemicals. Diminished dusting. |
HOW TO USE: |
PREPARATION: All surfaces must be clean and sound; loose material such as flaking, limewash, paint distemper, etc. must be removed. Mould oil should be cleaned from shuttered concrete and rust removed from all metal work. APPLICATION: (Bonding Agent): Brush neat WELDCRETE thoroughly into the existing surface, and apply subsequent renders or toppings directly. ALTERNATIVE METHOD: Mix 2 parts of WELDCRETE to 1 part neat, fresh cement (by volume) to slurry and brush thoroughly into the existing surface, applying subsequent renders or topping directly. CAUTION: Do not allow WELDCRETE bond coat to dry out or harden. Best results are achieved by application of fresh renderrs to wet WELDCRETE bond coats. If the WELDCRETE bond coat dries out a fresh WELDCRETE bond coat must be applied before rendering. |
