Ordinary concrete, even of high density and quality, inevitably contains a network of capillaries and microcracks as well as voids which draw in and transmit water and dampness. This leads to problems such as: visible leakage, dampness, deterioration of finished surfaces, corrosion of reinforcement and deterioration of the concrete matrix.

Cementaid 3CC profoundly modifies the surface tension of the cement hydrates, producuing a highly water-repellent, Non-absorptive HYDROPHOBIC MATRIX™ throughout the hardened concrete. Capillaires and voids are internally spealed by reversing the normal "wicking" or absorptive action of concrete, as well as dramatically reducing pressure permeability. This prevents absorption and transmission of moisture, dampness and contained salts, without the past need for membranes, coatings or built-up treatments. Cementaid 3CC System provides DRY, durable, high performance concretes structures concurrent with significant time and cost savings. BASEMENTS AND RETAINING WALLS The 3CC SYSTEM is a proven method for waterproofing and dampproofing basements and retaining walls exposed to relatively low hydrostatic pressures. The raft slab of this deep three level basement was completely waterproofed with 3CC SYSTEM concrete.
